NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD is looking for two women who allegedly forced a child to help them steal cash and other items from at least three Queens businesses.

WCBS-TV (https://cbsloc.al/1jfhiVM ) says a surveillance tape caught one of the women distracting a store clerk while the other woman directs the little girl to grab an employee’s wallet from behind the counter last Wednesday. The child is about 4 years old.

Police believe the trio then stole from two salespeople at a thrift shop. In that incident, police say the little girl allegedly removed a purse and fanny pack containing $80 and credit cards.

Police say workers at a nearby travel agency also believed they were targeted by the trio. A cash box was missing after the suspects stopped by to use the bathroom.
