ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - A police station that has served Montgomery County for more than 50 years is closing.

Montgomery County police say the Third District station at 801 Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring will close Wednesday at 4 p.m. after 52 years of service. A new station at 1002 Milestone Drive will open at 3 p.m.

Police will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new station on June 7.
