ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 23-year-old Emmonak (ee-MAH-nuk) man has been arrested after briefly barricading himself inside a home and damaging property.

Alaska State Troopers say Justin Oktoyak is charged with assault, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

KTUU-TV (https://bit.ly/1jjDGft) reports Oktoyak on Friday night got into a disagreement and used a shovel to beat a car outside a home.

A trooper and a village police officer approached. Troopers say Oktoyak entered the home with juveniles inside and refused to come out. He claimed to have a shotgun.

The officers were deciding their next move when Oktoyak burst out with an ax in his hand. He was wrestled down and arrested.

He’s being held on $25,000 bail.
