POTTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A southeastern Pennsylvania woman is facing charges stemming from allegations that she threw her 3-week-old daughter on the ground and fractured her skull.

The Mercury (https://bit.ly/1lSQ2eX) reported Monday that 21-year-old Sharnice Nadira White of Pottstown is charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts including simple assault and child endangerment.

An investigation began in January, when a doctor who treated the infant told a Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth caseworker that the injuries appeared to stem from abuse.

Police said on April 22, White confessed to throwing the infant on the floor amid frustration that her 19-month-old child was crying after a spanking and the younger child began crying too.

Online court records did not list whether she had an attorney.
