MARSHALL, Ark. (AP) - A dive team has recovered the body of a missing hunter from the Buffalo National River in north Arkansas.

Searcy County Sheriff Donald Ragland says crews with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission found the body of 49-year-old James Wilson Taylor on Monday afternoon.

Ragland tells the Harrison Daily Times (https://bit.ly/1myrJRY ) that Taylor’s body was found in about 8 feet of water a half-mile upstream from Baker Ford Landing. Ragland says the body was found about 60 feet from where searchers originally found Taylor’s gun.

Authorities say Taylor left home early Friday to go hunting via kayak on the Buffalo. He was reported missing Saturday morning.

Ragland says authorities don’t suspect foul play but that Taylor’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
