Former DeSoto Parish deputy in custody

DIXIE INN, La. (AP) - Former DeSoto Parish sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Humphries is in custody.

Humphries, of Stonewall, was apprehended Thursday by Dixie Inn police.

Humphries is wanted on warrants from Bossier Parish charging him with three counts of molestation of juveniles.

Humphries resigned from the sheriff’s office last month to pursue his mixed martial arts career. He had been assigned to the narcotics division. Humphries previously worked for the Bossier and Sabine sheriffs’ offices.

He’ll be transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center, where he is expected to be booked as a fugitive from Bossier Parish. Then he’ll be transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.
