ANALYSIS/OPINION:

The article “Fracking boom creates jobs for women — but only as prostitutes and maids, activist claims” (Web, April 20) was well-written and demonstrates how out of touch anti-fracking activists have become.

As more and more peer-reviewed scientific research proves that fracking can be done safely with minimal impact on the environment, activists opposed to fracking have become more shrill in their claims. Not only are these claims based on bad science, but they are getting to the point at which they are disrespectful of hard-working women in the oil-and-gas industry.
