CASCADE, Mont. (AP) - A child was hurt when a saddle bronc horse kicked a steel gate during a rodeo in Cascade.

The accident occurred Saturday night and involved a horse named “X33.

Officials say the horse bucked off its rider and kicked along the fence where it rammed a latched steel gate. The gate flew open and knocked over a young boy who was watching the action.



The Great Falls Tribune reports (https://gftrib.com/1Nk05pp ) that the child was not hit by the horse, which was quickly subdued by rodeo handlers.

The boy was taken to a hospital in Great Falls.

The hospital declined to release information about the boy, but officials at the rodeo say the boy was responsive and appeared to have suffered a cut on the head and some bruises.
