A grand jury has indicted Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke on charges of first-degree murder. Probable cause criminal liability now attaches. Legal claims against the city of Chicago have been settled with the family of the deceased, Laquan McDonald.

The McDonald saga now focuses on the cops’ alleged culpability relative to an 86-minute redaction of video images from a nearby Burger King security tape. As one would naturally expect, CNN, MSNBC and most of the others networks, as well as national print media, are having a field day with this one. Such media frenzy is reminiscent of Rosemary Woods and her alleged involvement in the missing 19 minutes of audio from one of President Nixon’s Watergate-related tapes.

The media reports that McDonald was only 17, that he was just a boy. But he was enough of a man to be wielding a knife at pedestrians on the streets of Chicago under cover of night before the cops confronted him in the middle of a highway. Yet the same news channels up in arms about this paid little attention to the ruthless killing of 9-year old Tyshawn Lee in a Chicago back alley on Nov. 2. Little Tyshawn’s death was the result of a cowardly, “black-on-black” gang hit meant as revenge against Tyshawn’s father. Those allegedly responsible for killing this boy are currently in custody, yet their glazed-over, hollow eyes show no light of humanity.

The McDonald case was settled in April. The media should redirect its frenetic focus on the death of this innocent little boy who lost his life to these apostates from hell.
