Children of parents who are their kids’ friends first and allow their offspring free reign, unchecked and without consequence, usually end up uneducated, lazy, unruly, incapable of self-sufficiency, and with no respect for their parents. It is the same for America and the rest of the world. We are perhaps ‘liked’ now more now we were before President Obama, but being disrespected by nations with no fear of consequence from us has led to a less stable, more terror-and-atrocity-filled world. We have become the often-absent parent who is ‘liked’ more than respected.

When you hear a liberal saying that the proof of Mr. Obama’s wonderful job as president is our popularity around the world, remind him of this: It is better to be respected than liked by a world in chaos, because that world will inevitably come to disrespect us for our weaknesses and allowances.

Whether some in this nation like it or not, America is the world’s parent, the only ‘adult’ capable of maintaining order on this globe. Unfortunately, in these past two presidential terms, the world has become increasingly unstable, and now democracy and civility take a backseat to oppression, mass executions and millions of immigrants fleeing to lands where no safety exists because the ‘parents’ of world security are AWOL.
