From where many Americans stand, it appears that the Democratic Party has degenerated into a bush-league political team obsessed with easy-win, first-place trophies (i.e., first black president, first female president). Never mind that Hillary Clinton, their current favorite, actually has less paid political experience than the highly intelligent but very foolish man currently holding the job of president.

Now along come the Republicans, upsetting the Democratic apple cart with more than a dozen candidates from which America can make a choice. This includes two ‘non-politicians,’ both of whom have each had more managerial and leadership experience than our current president and former Secretary of State Clinton combined. Mrs. Clinton may sell herself as Joan of Arc in her fictional “war on women” rhetoric, but lest women forget, Mrs. Clinton was perched on the rump of Bill’s horse and clinging to his coattails all the way from Little Rock to the White House.

While I find any one of the GOP’s contenders more qualified than Mrs. Clinton, I believe it indeed may be time for a female president who actually has a natural leadership gene in her DNA, one who has not been ‘e-chipped’ by a political party. I would give serious thought to a ticket with Carly Fiorina at the top and either Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio as vice-presidential pick.

By actually running candidates with an acumen for management and leadership, the Republican ticket would not only put an end to further thought by the Democrats of quick and easy trophy wins with seriously underqualified candidates, it would assuage American anger over the GOP’s apparent obsession with rewarding career RINOs. We would finally have truly ‘outside-the-Beltway’ leadership in the White House.
