ANALYSIS/OPINION:

In the dismissal of murder charges against Chandra Levy’s suspected killer, prosecutors have cited the tape-recorded conversation of the government’s key witness, Armando Morales, recanting his trial testimony (“ICE still plans to deport illegal immigrant cleared of Chandra Levy murder,” Web, July 29). Yet questions remain: Are they going to charge Mr. Morales with perjury? If not, why not? And did they give him a polygraph before he testified at the trial? If not, why not? Chandra Levy’s parents and the public deserve to know these answers.
