GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Police say a man has been arrested in a fatal shooting in Greensboro.

Local media outlets report 24-year-old Lemuel Lee Harris of Greensboro was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old William McKinley Spencer III, also of Greensboro.

Police say Spencer died Saturday after a shooting at Georgetown Manor Apartments.

Lt. Chris Schultheis says Greensboro police responded around 4:18 a.m. to the apartment building for a report of gunshots fired.

Schultheis says arriving officers found Spencer’s body in a nearby wooded area. He appeared to have been shot to death.

Schulthesi says it appears Harris, who was identified as a suspect, and the victim knew each other. He didn’t give a possible motive in the killing.

Harris remains in jail. It isn’t clear if he has an attorney.
