BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) - Kern County authorities say DNA evidence led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man on suspicion of strangling a man in Bakersfield more than two years ago.

Sheriff’s spokesman Ray Pruitt says the case never went cold because detectives considered Ethan Wiley a person of interest almost from the beginning.

Wiley was already in custody on unrelated charges when he was arrested Friday. He could face charges including robbery and murder in the 2013 death of Terrence Tsitakis.

The 53-year-old was found dead in his home. The coroner later determined he had been strangled.

Pruitt says investigators don’t have any reason to believe that the two knew each other. Authorities haven’t named a motive.

KBAK-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1n9vrHI) Wiley is due in court Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately known if he has a lawyer.
