ANALYSIS/OPINION:

For the sake of preserving the integrity of the IRS, Commissioner John Koskinen should be impeached.

Koskinen was appointed to his current post to “restore the American people’s confidence” in the IRS. However, his actions since then have done just the opposite. After deliberately targeting conservative groups, Koskinen allowed key evidence to be destroyed during case review, including 24,000 of Lois Lerner’s emails. He lied under oath, and he has been lying to the American people since he took office in 2013.

Should I be worried that American leaders will discriminate against me based upon my personal and political views? If Koskinen remains in office, I’m afraid that answer is yes.

I understand that even our most admired leaders make mistakes, but Commissioner Koskinen’s position of power stands as a constant threat to Americans. As a nation born in freedom, we demand full transparency and leaders we can trust. Unfortunately, John Koskinen is not a leader we can trust.
