PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a 16-year-old has been charged with aggravated assault after they say the youth shot paintballs at pedestrians near a university in Philadelphia.

Police on Sunday afternoon responded to reports that someone was shooting paintballs at pedestrians from inside a home near Temple University.

Two men told police they were struck by paintballs while walking in a group.

Police say the teen then shot at one of the men at close range, but missed, when the man approached the door of the home the teen was in.

Police say the teen is also charged with having instruments of a crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

The teen isn’t being identified because he is a juvenile.
