Skeletal remains found along rural Iberville highway

IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after they say human remains were found along a rural highway in Iberville Parish.

The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office tells news outlets that someone picking pecans discovered the skeletal remains Monday on Highway 77 between Rosedale and Grosse Tete.

Investigators are now trying to piece together how the remains wound up there.

Sheriff Brett Stassi says it looks like the bones have been there for a long time.

Detectives have contacted the LSU FACES Lab to help identify the remains.
