Deonte Carraway, the Prince George’s County school aide charged with filming child pornography, is facing a new indictment after another victim came forward.
A federal grand jury Tuesday returned an indictment charging Mr. Carraway with 15 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor to produce child pornography involving 12 minors ranging in age from 9 to 13 years old.
That indictment adds two new counts that stem from an additional victim coming forward recently, according to U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesperson Marcia Murphy.
Mr. Carraway is accused of videotaping the newest victim, a 13-year-old boy, masturbating, court documents said.
The federal charges come separately from the case being pursued by Prince George’s County prosecutors. In June, a county grand jury indicted Mr. Carraway on 270 criminal counts including child abuse, sex offense and child pornography.
Mr. Carraway was charged with sexually assaulting at least 23 children who attended Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School on campus and outside of school between August and February, according to Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks.
In the federal case, Mr. Carraway faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years in prison followed by up to lifetime of supervised release for each of the 15 counts of production of child pornography.
No initial appearance has been scheduled, and Mr. Carraway remains detained. A motions hearing in the case is scheduled on Jan. 30 in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, Md. Mr. Carraway is scheduled for trial on March 14.
