I cannot wait until this election is over. Hillary Clinton lied to the FBI and the American people, using a private email server in her home for State Department business. WikiLeaks divulged how some Clinton supporters were paid to disrupt Donald Trump’s campaign events. Mrs. Clinton also collected millions of dollars from the likes of George Soros, super PACs and foreign governments. How does this woman manage to skate by all the rules? Do we really want her to be commander-in-chief? More like commander-in-cheat. Donald Trump is no rose, but he hasn’t done anything to necessitate an investigation by the FBI.

In light of this horrendous election campaign, I propose a cap on the amount of money that can be spent to run for the office of president of the United States. I also suggest a cap for the campaigns of members of Congress — and a shortening of election season, including the primaries.

If one added up the millions of dollars spent on this presidential election, think of how much good it could have done to help our country. Perhaps, if a bill to impose such caps existed, the country would have more honest candidates in the future.
