RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Officials with the North Carolina State Fair say this year’s edition had the second-highest attendance ever.

Fair officials said Monday that the 11-day fair topped the 1 million-mark for only the fourth time ever.

Officials said 1,028,364 visited the fair this year. That’s second only to the 2010 fair, which attracted 1,091,887 visitors.

The fair attracted 116,041 visitors on Sunday, the last day for the 163rd edition of the fair.
