HOUSTON (AP) - Houston-area officials are trying to track down a man they say told a 16-year-old girl he was a member of law enforcement and then sexually assaulted her.
The Harris County sheriff’s office said Monday that the girl had been approached by the man early in the morning of Oct. 15 as she walked down a sidewalk in the Channelview area.
Officials say the man identified himself as a member of law enforcement and told her to get into his vehicle. He told her he was going to take her to a police station for being in violation of curfew.
Officials say the man is accused of then taking her under an overpass and sexually assaulting her.
Officials say the man was armed with a handgun.
