ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Jury selection is scheduled to begin in the trial of four people charged with kidnapping and torturing two college students in Rochester late last year.

Rochester police rescued the two University of Rochester students from a house in the city in December after authorities say the men had been abducted when they were lured to the home. Police say the men were beaten and sexually assaulted, and one was shot in the lower leg during 40 hours of captivity.

Five other people have pleaded guilty for their roles in the incident.

Lydell Strickland, David Alcaraz Ubiles, Ruth Lora and Inalia Rolldan all face kidnapping and weapons charges. Strickland is also charged with sexual assault and robbery.

Jury selection is set to begin Monday morning.

Prosecutors haven’t released a motive for the abductions.
