PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A Maine state trooper is back at work and has had a criminal mischief charge dropped. State Police are not providing details on what led to the charge last month against 28-year-old Trooper Michael D. Lane of Lyman.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2dcldoH ) Lane was put on administrative leave in September after he was charged with criminal mischief in Saco.

State police spokesman Steve McCausland said the district attorney’s office in York County decided not to file charges. Lane was returned to duty about two weeks ago.
