BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A federal grand jury in Baton Rouge has indicted a former Gonzales district fire chief on child pornography possession and distribution charges.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/2cUsGtr) 36-year-old Kristopher Johnson, who already faces 11 state counts of possessing pornography involving a child younger than 17, is accused in the federal indictment returned Wednesday of sending child pornography by cellphone text messages four times.

Federal prosecutors said in a statement that Johnson had pornographic images of pre-pubescent children and children younger than 12.

Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Johnson on the state counts March 8.

Federal prosecutors in Baton Rouge said the matter is still under investigation.
