CHARLESTON, Mo. (AP) - A southeast Missouri woman who fatally struck a man with her car in 2014 has been convicted of second-degree involuntary manslaughter.

The Southeast Missourian (https://bit.ly/2dv2gh0 ) reports that a Mississippi County jury deliberated three hours Wednesday before reaching the verdict in the case of 29-year-old Savannah Davis of Sikeston.

John Sharber was fatally struck on the parking lot of the Sikeston Wal-Mart store in 2014. Davis told jurors it was an accident due in part to faulty brakes.

But Davis had been having an affair with Sharber and said under questioning that she put him in the car after striking him and drove to several other locations before leaving him outside a hospital. Davis then drove to Arkansas.
