ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - Police have charged a woman with murder after they say she fatally shot her husband.

Alexandria Deputy Police Chief David Hulcher tells local media that officers responded to a report of a shooting Wednesday morning at an Alexandria home. In the home, they found 75-year-old Rolf Marshall with a gunshot wound in his upper body. He later died at a hospital.

Marshall’s wife, 47-year-old Paula Marshall, has been arrested and charged with murder. It’s unclear if she has an attorney.

The investigation is ongoing.
