Larry Brown may be going back to high school.

The Hall of Fame basketball coach, who is the only coach to win an NBA and NCAA title, is exploring the opportunity to become the next coach at East Hampton High School on Long Island, New York.

Brown, 76, a Long Island native, reportedly visited the school on Tuesday night after contacting the athletic director earlier in the day. Brown maintains a home on Long Island.

“I’m trying to figure things out, to be honest with you,” Brown told Newsday. “I’m interested in helping kids, but I don’t want to do anything unless I’m 100 percent in. I don’t think it would be fair to the kids.”

East Hampton athletic director Joe Vasile-Cozzo said the job is Brown’s if he wants it.

“In fairness to Larry, he has maintained that he’s not sure, but if he does do it, he wants to be in it 100 percent,” Vasile-Cozzo told Newsday. “And I’m like, ’Whatever works for you, we’re game.”

Brown told Newsday that he once saw himself teaching history and coaching three sports in high school. But he is likely only to serve as a coach at the Long Island school.

Brown resigned in July as coach at Southern Methodist, where he had coached since 2012. Brown has coached the Carolina Cougars, Denver Nuggets, UCLA, New Jersey Nets, Kansas, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Charlotte Bobcats and SMU.
