Report: Nationals bolster bench by signing Adam Lind

Nationals lose out on closer candidate

The World Champion Chicago Cubs acquired All-Star reliever Wade Davis from the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday for outfielder Jorge Soler. Davis takes over the closer role for the Cubs from free agent Aroldis Chapman. Published December 7, 2016

Maryland to face Boston College in Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit

Maryland will face Boston College in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 26. It will be the third bowl appearance in four years and 27th all-time for Maryland. Free agent slugger Yoenis Cespedes returns to Mets

Arguably the biggest bat on the free agent market, Cespedes reportedly agreed on Tuesday to a four-year, $110 million contract with the New York Mets, pending a physical according to Yahoo Sports. The deal was first reported by FoxSports' Ken Rosenthal. Published November 29, 2016

Nats acquire minor league pitcher Jimmy Cordero from Phillies
