Fellow Democrats, wake up. There is nothing — absolutely nothing — in either the soul or the track record of Hillary Clinton that should make voters enthusiastic. Virtually every day a new scandal surfaces, and the rumors are that the really big scandals have yet to emerge (“Millennial voters spurning Clinton, but not for GOP,” Web, Sept. 19).

Her total election pitch thus far has been ‘I am the least despicable of the two major candidates.’ Since this is no longer selling to an anti-establishment electorate — when Mrs. Clinton herself is the epitome of the establishment candidate — Team Hillary is trying to generate voter enthusiasm. They are trying to generate enthusiasm most especially among millennials who were very enthusiastic about Bernie Sanders because Sen. Sanders ran an anti-establishment campaign. The trashy Democratic National Committee sabotaged the wrong horse.

In my view, we Democrats should be looking around for a back-up candidate. Only the bribed members of Mrs. Clinton’s political base will even consider voting for her (if they show up at the polls at all) and this is bad news for the rest of the Democratic candidates.

It’s time to face reality. No one can be enthusiastic about a ‘sow’s ear for president.
