MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - A University of Vermont student has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault and lewd and lascivious conduct involving two students.

Police say Nikolai Kalininskii, a 19-year-old UVM sophomore from Russia, touched the genitals of two female students who live in his dorm during separate incidents Saturday and Monday. He was arrested and arraigned in Chittenden Superior Court on Tuesday.

Kalininskii was issued a no-trespass order for the entire UVM campus. A phone message left for the supervising attorney at the Chittenden County Public Defender’s’ office was not immediately returned Tuesday.
