Metro Transit Police have arrested a man twice in two days on charges of exposing himself to passengers, including at least one juvenile, on a subway train and a city bus.

Transit Police said Wednesday Alex Thomas Dorsey, 27, of Northeast, was arrested Monday on charges of masturbating on a Silver Line train between Metro Center and L’Enfant Plaza.

Police said a passenger pointed out the suspect to an officer on the platform who stopped and arrested Mr. Dorsey. That night, officials at D.C. Pretrial Services released him on a citation.

On Tuesday, Metro police arrested Mr. Dorsey for the same crime. This time, he had boarded a B2 Metrobus in Southeast around 8:15 a.m. and proceeded to masturbate in front of passengers until he “completed the act on the floor of the bus,” police said.

At least one juvenile was on the bus, police said.

When confronted by the bus operator, Mr. Dorsey exited the bus and fled the scene.

Metro Transit detectives retrieved digital video footage from the bus’ onboard camera and recognized the suspect from the previous day. He was arrested late Tuesday at his place of employment.

Indecent exposure is considered a misdemeanor in the District, but Metro said Wednesday that “so-called ‘minor’ offenses can escalate to even more serious crimes.”
