WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - The College of William & Mary says its freshmen class is moving in on Friday, with classes starting Wednesday.

The university said in a press release that it anticipates enrolling more than 1,500 students for the class of 2021.

Nearly a third of the students are people of color, and seven percent of the class is made up of international students.

The school in Williamsburg is also commemorating the 50th Anniversary of its first black undergrad students who lived on campus. The school will pay tribute at its upcoming convocation ceremony. Former Virginia Supreme Court Justice John Charles Thomas will be the speaker.
