FOSTER, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island State Police say one person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash near U.S. Route 6 in Foster.

The crash near the Connecticut state line happened around 2:10 p.m. Friday when a vehicle heading westbound veered into the eastbound lanes and hit a roll-off truck.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver has been identified as 80-year-old Sylvia Johnson, of Foster.

The truck driver was hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
