FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - An aide employed by a Florida sheriff’s office is accused sexual assault while impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Lee County Sheriff’s officials said in a news release that Ivan DeJesus Moreno was arrested early Friday after authorities learned of the sexual assault.

According to the report, Moreno came into contact with the victim during his shift as a community aide. He detained and coerced the victim into performing oral sex.

Officials said the victim left the scene and reported the incident.

Moreno faces charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer, custodial sexual battery and false imprisonment and battery.

Sheriff Mike Scott called the actions “deplorable.”

Jail records don’t list an attorney for Moreno.

Lee County is in southwest Florida.
