One line from President Trump’s inaugural address seems to echo that of a speech by Bane, the supervillain in the 2012 movie “The Dark Knight Rises,” Entertainment Weekly reported Friday afternoon.

EW embedded a video by Deadspin editor Timothy Burke which mashed up the relevant lines: Mr. Trump saying, “…and giving it back to you, the people,” followed by Batman nemesis Bane telling a captive audience, “…and we give it back to you, the people.”

Covering the uncanny similarity, EW quipped, “Too bad Trump’s echoed line wasn’t from The Joker, or Mark Hamill would have been all over this.”

That appears to be a reference to recent video wherein the voice actor read Mr. Trump’s tweets in character as the Joker from the early 1990s program “Batman the Animated Series.”
