ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say a 59-year-old Kake man has died in a boating accident.

Troopers say Willis Cavanaugh went missing after a boat he was in went aground in Herring Bay on Admiralty Island.

Troopers say they were notified Sunday afternoon that one of the occupants in the boat was missing and the Coast Guard was coordinating a search.

Troopers say they were notified a few hours later that Cavanaugh’s body was found about a mile offshore.

An autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office is planned.
