FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for his part in a fatal beating and stabbing.
A state attorney’s office news release says 24-year-old Hunter Michael Tyson was sentenced Thursday after he pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and other charges.
Authorities say Tyson and two teens went to 58-year-old Ted Lee’s Fort Myers home in July 2016. Lee was beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed. His body was later found outside a Manatee County church. The three suspects were eventually arrested in Kansas and extradited back to Florida.
Cases are still pending against the other two suspects.
