LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Louisiana authorities say a 27-year-old man is accused of negligent injury after shooting another man in the cheek while playing Russian roulette with a stolen handgun.
Lake Charles Deputy Police Chief Mark Kraus said Thursday the incident occurred late Tuesday in Lake Charles.
He says 27-year-old Romain Peter Boutte of Lake Charles was also arrested on charges of illegal use of a dangerous instrument and possessing a stolen firearm.
Kraus says Boutte was with the victim when police answered a report of a shooting about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday.
He did not immediately answer an emailed query about how Boutte allegedly shot someone else in Russian roulette.
The victim’s name was not released.
It was not clear whether Boutte had an attorney who could comment.
