Not like one ever “needs” a reason to have a drink, but as Negroni Week kicks off in D.C., you can even have a hand in spending both on yourself while donating to a worthy cause.

Bars throughout the District are lending a hand in the event beginning Monday, in which participating bars will donate a portion of their proceeds for every Negroni, Campari cocktail or Negroni-inspired sale to charity.

Several District establishments are offering specialty Negroni cocktails this week. Acqua Al 2 in Southeast will feature the Negroni Sbagliato, in which Prosecco is used instead of gin, and Kapnos in Northwest is offering nine variations on Negroni options. Hank’s Cocktail Bar, also in Northwest, will serve up the Bittersweet Surrender this week, a cocktail featuring red pepper that is the brainchild of mixology master Jessica Weinstein.
