MILLINOCKET, Maine (AP) - Utility crews are investigating an outage that affected more than 5,000 customers in the Millinocket, Maine, area after a transmission line was tripped.

Emera Maine says 5,375 customers are without power in the northern Penobscot and Piscataquis County areas.

It said Wednesday the public is urged to slow down or move over if approaching utility crews in roadways. People who use generators or alternate heating sources should also make sure they are using the equipment in accordance with guidelines.
