WILKINSBURG, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man is in custody in a shooting near Pittsburgh that critically injured a woman last week.
Allegheny County homicide investigators said 26-year-old Darren Taylor turned himself in Friday to face charges of attempted homicide and aggravated assault in Tuesday night’s shooting in Wilkinsburg.
Police said the 41-year-old victim was in a dispute with another woman when they allege Taylor came outside and shot her in the abdomen. Investigators had been seeking him since the shooting and called him armed and dangerous.
The woman was reported in critical condition. Her sister told WTAE-TV that she was “going through the healing process” after two surgeries.
Taylor is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 8. Court documents don’t list an attorney who could respond to the charges.
