CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - One person has been killed and another injured in a shooting in North Carolina’s largest city.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said officers were called to a report of gunfire shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.
Lt. Andrew S. Harris said in a news release that while officers were investigating the shooting, someone fired shots. No one was hurt in that gunfire. It was unclear if that shooting was related to the investigation.
In the initial investigation, officers found 18-year-old Daveon Antonio Andrews dead from a gunshot wound. An adult male was found a block away at a convenience store. He was taken to a Charlotte hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police say both victims were shot at the same time and place.
No arrests have been made.
