PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A Fort Thompson man accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman he was dating has pleaded not guilty in federal court.
Twenty-one-year-old Chadwick Harrison is charged with kidnapping and assault of a dating partner by strangulation and suffocation. Authorities allege he held the woman against her will and assaulted her in mid-February on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
U.S. Attorney Randolph Seiler says Harrison was indicted by a federal grand jury in March and pleaded not guilty last week. Harrison could face life in prison if convicted.
