ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - A woman who lured a man to a Maryland park where he was killed has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
A Montgomery County judge sentenced 20-year-old Vanesa Alvarado to life with all but 40 years suspended on Tuesday in the slaying of 18-year-old Cristian Villagran-Morales at a Gaithersburg park last year. Alvarado pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Prosecutors say Alvarado promised Villagran-Morales sex, but instead she led him to gang members, laughing as he was attacked. They say Villagran-Morales was stabbed more than 150 times and his body was left in the woods.
Four others were charged in the killing. One the four pleaded guilty this month and charges against a second were dropped. Trials are pending for two others.
