21-year-old South Carolina woman charged in stabbing

PICKENS, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a South Carolina woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of another woman.

The Greenville News reports (https://grnol.co/2rTzHS5 ) that 21-year-old Sydney Ann Sanders was charged with attempted murder early Tuesday morning. Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Creed Hashe says responding deputies found an adult woman at a house in Pickens with what appeared to be a stab or puncture wound on her side.

Hashe says the victim identified the suspect, before being transported to the hospital, where she has undergone surgery.

Police say the motive remains under investigation.

It’s unclear if Sanders has a lawyer.
