PITTSBURGH (AP) - Prosecutors have withdrawn charges against a western Pennsylvania couple because they can’t find a Hispanic man who alleged that he was lured to their home and then beaten and robbed by suspected white supremacists.
Mike Manko, a spokesman for the Allegheny County district attorney’s office, told The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2soD3ZT ) on Wednesday that charges of aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation, conspiracy and robbery had been withdrawn against 32-year-old George Palmer and 31-year-old Hope Gorham.
West Deer Township police said the man alleged that he met the couple May 10 and accepted their invitation to “party” but was later confronted by four men with swastika and anarchy tattoos who attacked him with a wrench and yelled epithets at him.
Palmer’s attorney said his client still faces heroin and drug paraphernalia charges.
