WOBURN, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to life in prison for the January 2015 shooting death of 32-year-old man.
A jury found 28-year-old Rigoberto Escobar, of Everett, guilty of first-degree murder. Escobar was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole Tuesday.
Police say Escobar shot Magno Sosa, of Nantucket, three times in the head after a dispute outside an apartment. Sosa was found after the shooting and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say the gun used in the shooting was later located with Escobar’s fingerprints on it. They say Escobar had wrapped the gun in a shirt and hit it in a rolled up rug in the basement of an apartment.
Escobar had denied the charges against him after his arrest.
