MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a teenage father has been arrested in the death of his four-month-old son in western Pennsylvania.
Police in Allegheny County said officers found the child unresponsive at a McKeesport residence early on Feb. 6. The boy was pronounced dead less than an hour later at McKeesport Hospital.
The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office identified him as Isaiah Brooks-Leonard and said he died of asphyxiation due to smothering, ruling the death a homicide.
The 17-year-old father was arrested and charged with criminal homicide. He is being held in the county jail awaiting arraignment.
