BURLINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina sheriff’s office has accused two people of abusing a disabled man.

The Times-News of Burlington reports the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office says 69-year-old Reecha Dixon and 51-year-old Tina King of Mebane are charged with felony abuse of a disabled adult and three counts of cruelty to animals.

An investigation was begun in October after a 63-year-old man was found on the side of a road. The sheriff’s office said the man was incoherent and committed for treatment and evaluation. The investigation also found the man lived at an address where he was under the care of Dixon and King.

Dixon and King were arrested after a search of the home last Thursday. Both are jailed under $150,000 apiece. It’s not known if they have attorneys.
