ANALYSIS/OPINION:

The Trump administration has issued new restrictions on Americans visiting communist Cuba. Americans will not be allowed to do business with certain hotels, stores or other establishments that have ties to the Cuban military or security services. But why doesn’t the Trump administration place the same types of sanctions on communist China? A lot of hotels, stores and other businesses are owned by the Chinese military and Communist Party there. Why the hypocrisy?

China has weapons of mass destruction. Cuba doesn’t. China can shoot down satellites. Cuba can’t. And what about the Tiananmen Square massacre, cultural genocide in Tibet, the possible takeover of Taiwan, etc.? I could go on. Communist Cuba isn’t a threat to the United States. Communist China is the biggest threat our country has ever faced. I think that the U.S. government should treat all communist countries the same. Our government should oppose, not appease, communist China.
